Thanks for doing this. I just learned that WordPress does LaTex and can hardly wait to use it. In addition to my public blog, I’m going to start a private blog for the use of my research buddies. Right now we use email and it is just nasty.
installing it on linux is as easy as searching for “kile” in your package browser and install it together with all the dependencies.
kile is the editor and its awesome
on Mac osx i strongly recomend this app: http://aquamacs.org/ its integrated with LiveTex and works just fine;D
in Linux i use also emacs, but if you only want to edit TeX/LaTeX and not programming, use Texmacs
