12. September 2012 by tom 4 Comments

The documentclass options a4paper or letterpaper are certainly not the right choices when creating a set of equations or vector graphics using TiKZ for embedding in another document or standalone usage. Ideally, the output file is automatically set to fit its content, possibly with some whitespace around it. The following post describes two possible ways: … [Read more…]

29. August 2012 by tom 60 Comments

Changing the font size in LaTeX can be done on two levels, either affecting the whole document or parts/elements of it. Using a different font size on a global level will affect all normal-sized text as well as the size of headings, footnotes, etc. By changing the font size locally, however, a single word, a … [Read more…]

Cross-referencing toc/lof/lot page numbers with content in LaTeX

24. August 2012 by tom 6 Comments

The hyperref package is extensive. Besides clickable hyperlinks, it provides an option to cross-reference page numbers in table-of-contents, list-of-figures and list-of-tables with the actual page. By default, the option is set to false. Loading the hyperref package without the linktopage option makes the list-entries clickable but not the page numbers.   Finally, always load hyperref … [Read more…]
