Retrieving citations in BibTeX format with doi2bib.org

6. June 2014 by tom 19 Comments

Google Scholar is doing a reasonable, but not always brilliant job in generating BibTeX entries (see my recent post on the topic and the discussion). The main drawbacks include the missing digital object identifier (DOI) or URL linking … [Read more…]

Cleveref, a clever way to reference in LaTeX

6. May 2013 by tom 20 Comments

Using standard cross-referencing in LaTeX only produces the label number, a name describing the label such as figure, chapter or equation has to be added manually. The cleveref package overcomes this limitation by automatically producing the label name and number. It further allows cross-referencing ranges of labels and multiple labels of the same or different … [Read more…]

bib2tex: Converting bibtex to bibitems

12. December 2011 by tom 8 Comments

A friend asked me today to help him convert a bibtex-file to a bibliography (\bibitem{}), since the journal he submits his paper to doesn’t accept bibtex-files (*.bib). So what we were trying to do is to convert a set of bibtex-references of the following form (from cell): to a format that understands, e.g.: There is … [Read more…]
